Medical prices and bills can be confusing. In the medical community, we know this better than most.  Fortunately, we have news that will assist you in determining the expenses you will incur when receiving care at any of our Grande Ronde Hospital (GRH) service locations.

Oregon hospitals have worked hard these past couple of years to rank our state as one of the best in the nation for determining health care prices. We are proud to note that all Oregon hospitals now offer cost estimates within three business days. A leader in these efforts, GRH has provided cost estimates for scheduled procedures to self-pay and out-of-network and insured patients for many years. Our purpose in these areas has always focused on caring for our patients in every area of need.

As long-time proponents of price transparency, we go out of our way to understand our patient’s insurance benefits to effectively assist them in navigating the financial side of healthcare.  Our Service Estimate Team can provide estimates for any GRH procedure, test and/or services.

If you are interested in obtaining a service estimate, or want to learn more about our Financial Assistance program please contact our Service Estimate Line at 541-963-2845 or our Financial Counselor at 541-963-1884.  Our Service Estimate Team will provide you with a cost estimate, payment plan options and determine whether or not you will qualify for GRH Financial Assistance.  Often patients assume insurance status or income disqualifies them from Financial Assistance.  However, we have a generous program designed to help those in need.  We encourage you to give us a call and allow us to help you successfully navigate the financial side of your GRH healthcare.

The Oregon Association of Hospitals and Health Systems (OAHHS) has worked with member hospitals and state health insurers to launch two new websites that provide price comparison tools for many common procedures, and provide cost estimates for those who are insured.

  • OregonHospitalGuide.org shows prices for common hospital procedures and allows comparisons.
  • WhatsMyCost.org connects insurers to their members to provide cost estimates and provides links to each insurer’s customer service line.

If you are wondering about the cost of your care, please take advantage of these options for help. We want our patients to have a solid understanding of what to expect when receiving our services. The more information you have, the better decision you can make with your health care providers and family about your care.
