Maintenance engineers' work involves checking, repairing and servicing machinery, equipment, systems and infrastructures. Maintenance engineers ensure that industrial machinery and equipment runs smoothly and reliably, planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance, responding to breakdowns. These systems include, but are not limited to fire tube boilers, hot water boilers, high pressure steam, vacuum, compressed gases, plumbing, air conditioning, laundry, kitchen and central sterile equipment.
Requirements: High School graduate or GED. Possess a current Oregon driver’s license. Hearing & vision within normal ranges. Practical experience with plant equipment systems & working familiarity with basic electrical and mechanical test equipment. Previous hospital experience preferred. Must work well with others in a team setting with shared workloads. Has ability to logically understand basic mechanical theory & be familiar with accepted trouble diagnosis methods. Must be able to communicate effectively orally & in writing. Must be physically agile and able to work in tight spaces. Must be able to lift 75 lbs. and carry 50 lbs. This position is primarily responsible for the maintenance, testing and repair of mechanical equipment and systems within the corporation owned buildings.
