Grande Ronde Hospital (GRH) is pleased to announce the winner of this year's grand prize from the 5th Annual Community Health Fair is 5-year old Brycelyn St. Claire, La Grande.

"We couldn't be more pleased that a child won the prize this year. Families are at the heart of what makes the fair so much fun every year. From our doll clinic and kid's cooking class to our robot demonstration and the helicopter landing—families love the health fair," said fair organizer Mardi Ford, community relations manager for GRH, adding that the health fair task force purposely chose to purchase a prize this year that would appeal to all ages.

Brycelyn and her family attended the Health Fair on April 25th where four of them participated in the Grande Health Fair Touring game for a chance to win a new bike. Out of the approximately 250 people who attended the fair, almost half completed the entire tour to qualify for a $500 credit at Mountain Works Bicycle of La Grande from GRH. The drawing was held on April 28th and Brycelyn was notified via a letter.

"She's been so excited. Every day since we got the letter, she has asked when she can see her bike. Every time the phone rang, she'd ask, 'is that them?' excited for your call," said Angelo St. Claire, who added the family attends the fair every year. "It's a lot of fun and you learn a lot, if you take the time to interact with people."

When asked just how excited she really was, a big grin and a bunny hop was Brycelyn's response.

"Outfitting her with a new bike is going to be a lot of fun," grinned Mavis Hartz, Mountain Works Bicycle.
