Join the fun at the 4th Annual Spring Health Fair

Spring out of hibernation and join us Saturday, April 26th for the Spring Health Fair at the Blue Mountain Conference Center, 404 12th Street, La Grande!

Grande Ronde Hospital (GRH) sponsors this annual community event to bring you the latest info on eating healthy, moving more and living well – at any age!

This year we are mixing it up with new events plus all your favorites: GRH Lab Cholesterol plus Glucose screenings, cooking demos with nutrition expert Susan Lewis, and the kid-pleasing Life Flight helicopter landing will all take place as usual, along with new events like eye health and retinal screenings with Dr. Sam Kimball, and the latest in popular topics like sleep medicine, mental health and living well with chronic conditions from local health experts.

Crowd-pleasing medical massage is back this year with therapist John Combe, LMT, as well as a new event called Exercise at Any Age. Find out how your body likes to move with these mini-class/demonstrations by Olivia Westonskow and Jenna Hendriksen. Space is limited, so get to the fair early and sign up to participate in either Sittercise for Seniors at 9 AM, yoga at 10 AM, or zumba gold at 11 AM. There is also room to simply watch the fun before you go home and try it yourself. Both Jenna and Olivia will be on hand between demonstrations to answer questions about their programs.

As always, we jump-start fair day with the Grande Ronde Rehab Run! Races begin at 8:30 AM with registration at 8 AM for those who have not pre-registered. Avoid the rush by downloading a registration form with race details – the first 100 to register will receive a free race tee shirt!

While at the health fair, check out the MyHealth display and enter to win a one-year membership to Anytime Fitness. Listen in to 104.7 or 99.9 FM radio from 8 AM to 10 AM on fair day for other ways to win prizes at the health fair. Admission is free and so are all activities except for the Grande Ronde Rehab Run ($10 registration fee) and lab screening ($20 with a 9-hour fast recommended).
