GRH physician elected to board for national guide dog organization

Mary Porter, DOMary Porter, DO, a primary care provider specializing in family medicine at the Regional Medical Clinic, has been elected to serve on the board for the Guide Dog Foundation and its sister organization, America’s VetDogs. Dr. Porter is a Major with the US National Guard, a former Army surgeon and staff physician, and Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medal for Heroism recipient. 

According to the full press release from the organization, “Dr. Porter will serve a two-year term as a member of the 28-member board, which sets strategic direction and policy to advance the organizations’ work of providing guide and service dogs and training – free of charge – to people who are blind or have low vision, and to those who have served our country honorably.”
